Overview

Wire Pass is the trailhead and short slot canyon to the Buckskin Gulch narrows, about 8 miles south of US-89 on House Rock Valley Road in the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness. It is also the trailhead for The Wave in the North Coyote Buttes, where the BLM limits permits to 20 per day (10 available online months in advance, and 10 by a daily lottery). The Wire Pass hike has a petroglyph panel and needs no permit, only a $7 per-person day fee at the trailhead.
