From Jackson, WY (15 mi): Head north on US-26/89/191 into Grand Teton National Park to the Snake River Overlook pullout, one of the park's classic views of the river below the Teton Range.
Overview
The Snake River starts on the southwest flank of Two Oceans Plateau in Yellowstone, flows into Jackson Lake, and exits the dam to wind south through Jackson Hole beneath the Teton Range. Its first 50 miles run through Jackson Hole, with oxbows, cottonwoods, and abundant wildlife. Scenic float trips and guided fishing trips run from the dam to Moose and beyond, and overlooks such as Oxbow Bend and Snake River Overlook look across the water.
