Overview

Chelsea Market is a food hall and shopping concourse filling an entire block between Ninth and Tenth avenues and 15th and 16th streets, in the 1890s National Biscuit Company (Nabisco) factory complex where the Oreo cookie was invented. It was redeveloped in the 1990s, and the High Line passes through its Tenth Avenue side. It holds bakeries, seafood counters, cafes, restaurants, and shops such as Pearl River Mart and Posman Books, with offices above (Google now owns the complex). The Food Network once filmed here.
