Overview
Kahului is Maui’s commercial and transportation hub, home to Kahului Airport, the island’s deep-draft harbor and its main shopping centers. It is not generally considered a tourist destination, but it is where most visitors arrive and a useful base for errands. Kahului is next to Wailuku on the west side of town and Spreckelsville on the east.

Kahului is the retail center for Maui, with several malls and major stores, including department stores at Queen Kaʻahumanu Center, Maui Marketplace and Maui Mall.
