Overview

Manzanita Lake (“little apple” in Spanish) is a scenic lake near the northwest entrance of Lassen Volcanic National Park, with views of Lassen Peak. It formed about 300 years ago when a rock avalanche from the Chaos Crags dammed Manzanita Creek. The area has the Loomis Museum, a campground, and fishing for rainbow, brown and brook trout.
