Overview
Chaos Crags are a group of lava domes in the northwest of Lassen Volcanic National Park, reached by a three-hour round-trip trail to Crags Lake with views of the Hat Creek valley and the Thousand Lakes Wilderness. About 350 years ago one dome collapsed, sending rockfalls into the Chaos Jumbles and forming Manzanita Lake. It is less visited than other park hikes.
