From Taos, NM (18 mi): Take NM-150 N (also called Ski Valley Rd) north from Taos and follow it for about 18 miles directly into Taos Ski Valley.

Overview

Taos Ski Valley is a village and alpine ski resort in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, 18 miles from Taos, at 9,207 feet, a steep, challenging mountain that was started as a ski area in 1955 by Ernie Blake. It was a mining camp in the 1800s. Its terrain reaches 11,819 feet, with a big share of expert runs, plus a ski school known for its lessons. In summer, it has hiking, disc golf, and mountain biking, and it is the trailhead for Wheeler Peak.
