Overview
The Couse-Sharp Historic Site in Taos preserves the home and studios of painters E. Irving Couse and Joseph Henry Sharp, founders of the Taos Society of Artists. Couse came to Taos in 1902 at Ernest Blumenschein's suggestion, and bought the house in 1910. Sharp bought a former Penitente chapel nearby in 1909 as his studio. It is open by appointment, with tours of the adobe buildings and their collections.
