Overview

Dillon Reservoir (Lake Dillon) is a large reservoir south of I-70 in Summit County, bordered by the towns of Frisco, Dillon, and Silverthorne, close to four ski resorts, built in the early 1960s to supply water to Denver. In summer the lake has a marina with sailing and paddling, and an 18-mile paved path circles the whole reservoir. In winter, ice fishing and snowmobiling are common. There are a lot of lodges, campgrounds, and RV sites nearby, and the Dillon Amphitheater hosts free and paid concerts.
