Overview
Garden of the Gods is a free public park in Colorado Springs, a National Natural Landmark (1971) of dramatic red sandstone spires, some more than 300 feet tall, against the backdrop of Pikes Peak. Charles Elliott Perkins's family gave the land to the city in 1909 on the condition it stay free. The visitor and nature center has exhibits, a film, and a cafe with a view.
