From Yosemite Valley El Portal Entrance (13 mi): Head northeast on El Portal Rd. El Portal Rd turns slightly right and becomes Southside Dr. Slight right onto CA-41 S/Wawona Rd. Turn right.
Overview
Tunnel View is Yosemite’s most iconic viewpoint, on Highway 41 at the east end of Wawona Tunnel, with a panorama of El Capitan on the left, Bridalveil Fall on the right and Half Dome in the distance. For many visitors it is the first breathtaking view of Yosemite Valley, and a parking lot lets you stop and take it in. It has been drawn and photographed by artists since the 19th century.
