Overview
Point Sur Lighthouse stands atop a 361-foot volcanic rock 24 miles south of Monterey, established in 1889 and still an active aid to navigation. It is the only complete turn-of-the-20th-century lightstation open to the public in California, visited on volunteer-led walking tours on Wednesdays and weekends, and is part of Point Sur State Historic Park.
