Overview

Liberty Square is the waterfront park between the South Carolina Aquarium and Charleston Harbor, and the gateway to Fort Sumter National Monument. It is home to the Fort Sumter Visitor Education Center, where you can see exhibits on the causes of the Civil War and board the ferry to the fort. Shaded walkways, native landscaping, and interpretive signs introduce the city's maritime and Civil War history, and the park sits along the Harborwalk, popular with walkers and cyclists.
