Overview

Pensacola Beach sits on Santa Rosa Island, a barrier island reached by bridges from both Pensacola and Gulf Breeze. It's known for sugar-white sand and calm, clear Gulf water, with Casino Beach as its social hub — home to the fishing pier, restaurants, and the site of a once-famous beachfront casino resort that drew crowds for pageants, fishing tournaments, and boxing matches from the 1930s until it closed in the 1960s.

Casino Beach
The heart of Pensacola Beach, with the main public beach access, the Gulf Pier, and a cluster of restaurants and family entertainment right on the sand.

Fort Pickens
This 1834 coastal fort at the western end of Santa Rosa Island guarded the entrance to Pensacola Bay until World War II. It's now part of Gulf Islands National Seashore and open for touring.

Novelty Houses
Look for the "Dome of a Home" — a hurricane-resistant concrete dome nicknamed the Flintstone House — and the "Spaceship House," a UFO-shaped Futuro pod perched atop a second story.
