Overview

The Homestead Crater is a unique geothermal spring hidden within a 55-foot tall limestone dome in Midway, Utah. Formed over 10,000 years by mineral-rich water rising from deep within the earth, the crater maintains a warm temperature of 90–96°F year-round. Visitors can soak, swim, snorkel, or scuba dive in the mineral waters, making it the only warm-water scuba destination in the continental U.S. A tunnel carved into the side of the dome provides easy access to the crater’s interior.

Beyond aquatic activities, the crater also hosts paddleboard yoga classes and guided tours, offering a tranquil yet adventurous experience. Lifejackets and snorkels are provided, and all activities require reservations. As part of the Homestead Resort, the crater is a relaxing retreat for wellness seekers, families, and thrill-seekers alike.
