Overview

The Generals Highway is the scenic road linking Sequoia and Kings Canyon national parks, connecting Highway 198 to Highway 180 past the Giant Forest and General Grant Grove, and named for the General Sherman and General Grant trees. It is steep, narrow and winding, with a 10 mph limit on the switchbacks, and the section north of Lodgepole is often closed in winter. Allow plenty of time.
