Overview

Orick is a small community on Redwood Creek along U.S. 101, 43 miles north of Eureka, and the gateway to Redwood National Park. It is surrounded by state and national parks and is on several trail networks, including the Redwood Creek Estuary Trail, the Humboldt Lagoons trails and the California Coastal Trail. Settlers came during the 1850 Gold Rush for beach-sand gold claims in the Gold Bluff District.
