Overview

Ghirardelli Square is a historic chocolate factory turned shopping and dining complex near Fisherman’s Wharf, where Domenico Ghirardelli bought the block in 1893 for his chocolate company. Landscape architect Lawrence Halprin transformed the brick buildings into a specialty shopping center in 1964, and today it has chocolate shops, restaurants and views of the bay.
