Overview

Piedras Blancas Light Station is a historic 1875 lighthouse on the Central Coast north of San Simeon, part of the California Coastal National Monument. Its upper floors were removed after the 1948 earthquake, leaving a 70-foot tower. Tours are offered by the Bureau of Land Management, and the site is next to a large elephant seal rookery.
