Overview
The Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades is a museum in a re-creation of a first-century Roman country house, overlooking the Pacific and dedicated to ancient Greek, Roman and Etruscan art with about 44,000 objects, including the Lansdowne Herakles and the Victorious Youth. Formal gardens, an outdoor Greek theater and courtyards add to the visit. Admission is free, but timed-entry tickets are required in advance and parking has a fee.
