Overview
The Getty Center in Brentwood is a hilltop campus of the J. Paul Getty Museum, opened in 1997 and known for Richard Meier’s travertine architecture, the Robert Irwin Central Garden and views of Los Angeles and the Pacific, and it houses European paintings, drawings, sculpture, manuscripts and photographs, including Van Gogh’s Irises. Admission is free, with paid parking, and a tram carries visitors up from the garage. Timed reservations may be required.
