Overview

The Thoroughgood House, dating to 1719, is one of Virginia Beach's oldest surviving colonial homes and a National Historic Landmark. Argall Thorowgood II built it and his wife Susannah completed it. Guided tours show original woodwork, period furnishings, and an English garden, and an Education Center covers the family and Princess Anne County. Admission is free.
