Overview
Richmond National Battlefield Park preserves the ground where the Union and Confederacy fought over the Confederate capital, spread across many units with open fields, river bluffs, and earthworks. Visit sites such as Cold Harbor, Gaines' Mill, Malvern Hill, and Drewry's Bluff, and take scenic trails and self-guided driving tours.
The park also tells the story of wartime Richmond, the political and industrial heart of the Confederacy, through museums, monuments, and ranger-led programs on soldiers, civilians, medical personnel, and enslaved people.
