Overview
Cedar Creek and Belle Grove National Historical Park in the Shenandoah Valley preserves the battlefield of the Battle of Cedar Creek, fought October 19, 1864, a decisive Union victory that secured control of the Valley. Rolling farmland, wooded ridges, and historic roads are open through driving tours, walking trails, and interpretive exhibits.
The park also includes Belle Grove Plantation, one of the Valley's finest surviving manor homes, built in the late 18th century, with stories of the families, laborers, and enslaved people who shaped the region.
