Overview

The Torpedo Factory Art Center occupies a former World War II munitions plant that's been a working artist community since 1974 — three floors of open studios and galleries where more than 150 artists working in painting, ceramics, fiber, and photography practice in full view of visitors. The building also houses the Alexandria Archaeology Museum and the Target Gallery's rotating exhibitions, and hosts Second Friday Art Nights and other events that make it easy to browse, buy, and talk with the artists themselves.
