From downtown Wilmington, head toward Water Street and follow signs to public parking near the riverfront; the Riverwalk begins near Market Street and stretches south along the Cape Fear River.
Overview
The Wilmington Riverwalk is a mile-long promenade along the Cape Fear River, lined with historic buildings, boutique shops, and waterfront restaurants. Public art, seasonal flower beds, and benches add to the stroll, and festivals and live music run through the year. It connects the USS North Carolina Battleship, the Port City Marina, and the historic Cotton Exchange.
