From Wilmington, take Market Street west to the Isabel Holmes Bridge, turn right onto Battleship Road NE, and follow signs to the parking area.
Overview
Battleship North Carolina, moored across the river from downtown Wilmington, is North Carolina's memorial to its World War II veterans. Commissioned in 1941, it earned 15 battle stars in every major Pacific offensive, and a grassroots campaign saved it from scrapping in the 1960s.
