Overview

The Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University is one of the Southeast's best spots for contemporary and modern art. The Rafael Viñoly-designed building holds over 10,000 works with a strong focus on underrepresented artists, plus Duke's permanent collection spanning medieval to modern pieces by names like Andy Warhol, Ai Weiwei, and Barkley L. Hendricks. Admission is free, and there's a sculpture garden and on-site café worth a stop too.
