Overview
Ebenezer Baptist Church, founded in 1886, became the spiritual home of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who served as co-pastor alongside his father and used the pulpit as a base for civil rights organizing through the 1950s and 60s. Now part of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park, it's still an active congregation, and the historic sanctuary is preserved to its mid-20th-century appearance and open for tours.
