Overview

The Pensacola Museum of History, part of the Historic Pensacola Village complex, occupies a 1907 Alamo mission-style building that served as Pensacola's city hall until 1985. Formerly known as the T.T. Wentworth Jr. Florida State Museum, it grew out of local collector Wentworth's decades of gathering everything from Florida Panhandle artifacts to outright oddities — including a mummified cat. One floor is devoted to his eccentric personal collection, two more trace life in the Panhandle through the centuries, and a hands-on science floor keeps kids entertained.
