How to Get There

From Downtown Boston (North End and Waterfront hotels): Cross the Charlestown Bridge via MA‑28, turn right onto 1st Avenue, and follow signs to the Charlestown Navy Yard and USS Constitution along the waterfront.

Overview

The Boston (Charlestown) Navy Yard, established in 1801, is one of the oldest U.S. Navy shipyards and served for 175 years until 1974. The National Park Service runs the 30-acre site as part of Boston National Historical Park, and it still supports the USS Constitution.
