Overview
The Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania is the official arboretum of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, 92 acres in Chestnut Hill on the former estate of John T. and Lydia T. Morris, who began landscaping it in 1887; it became a public arboretum in 1933. It holds more than 13,000 labeled plants of over 2,500 types from the temperate floras of North America, Asia, and Europe, in an English park landscape with Japanese influences.
