Overview
Fort Mifflin on the Delaware River was built in the late 18th century as part of the river defense system and endured one of the heaviest bombardments of the American Revolution in the 1777 siege. Its defense delayed British supply routes long enough to give Continental forces time to regroup. You can walk the casemates, parade grounds, and river views of this brick-and-stone fort.
