Overview
Eisenhower National Historic Site preserves the only home ever owned by President Dwight D. Eisenhower and his wife Mamie, a 690-acre farm beside the Gettysburg battlefield that served as a presidential retreat and their retirement home. Designated a National Historic Site in 1967, it has the house with original furnishings, barns, gardens, and walking trails where world leaders once met informally. Access is by shuttle from the Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center, with ranger-led tours seasonally.
