Overview

Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site in Yonkers is one of the oldest public buildings in Westchester County and a fine Georgian building, built in the 1680s as the administrative center of the huge Philipsburg Manor estate. The Philipse family's Loyalist ties led to the confiscation of the property during the Revolution. Exhibitions cover merchants, tenant farmers, enslaved Africans, and Revolutionary participants, near the Hudson and Yonkers waterfront.
