How to Get There

From Midtown Manhattan: Head south along the west side of Manhattan toward the Meatpacking District, then walk to Gansevoort Street near the High Line where the museum entrance is located.

Overview

The Whitney Museum of American Art presents modern and contemporary art from the United States, founded in 1930 and known for championing living artists. Since 2015 it has been at the southern end of the High Line in the Meatpacking District, with painting, sculpture, photography, video, and multimedia work and outdoor terraces with views.
