Overview
Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site is a reconstructed brownstone near Union Square where the 26th president was born in 1858. The original was demolished in the early 20th century and rebuilt in 1923 from historical records and family recollections. Ranger-led tours visit period rooms including the parlor, dining room, and his childhood bedroom, and museum exhibits cover his life as a reformer, conservationist, and president.
