Overview

Monmouth Battlefield State Park preserves the site of the June 28, 1778 Battle of Monmouth, one of the largest and longest battles of the Revolution, where Washington's Continental Army, trained through the winter at Valley Forge, confronted British forces retreating from Philadelphia. Over 1,800 acres of battlefield have hiking trails, overlooks, and a visitor center with artifacts, maps, and multimedia, plus the restored Craig House.
