Overview
Cape Henlopen State Park covers 5,193 acres of beaches, dunes, and pine forest at the mouth of Delaware Bay near Lewes. William Penn set the land aside as public property in 1682, and it later became the World War II coastal defense site of Fort Miles. Two lighthouses mark the shoreline.
