Overview

Big Stump Trail is a 2-mile loop in Big Stump Grove near the Kings Canyon National Park entrance, passing giant sequoia stumps left from logging between 1883 and 1891, the Mark Twain Stump and young sequoias, as well as the Smith-Comstock mill site. It is an easy, mostly shaded trail showing what logging did to these ancient forests, near the Grant Grove Village.
