From Los Angeles, CA (20 mi): Take I-110 S to CA-1 S, turn right onto Palos Verdes Drive South and continue for 3 miles; the chapel entrance is on the right.
Overview
Wayfarers Chapel, the “Glass Church,” is a striking glass-and-redwood chapel on the cliffs of Rancho Palos Verdes overlooking the Pacific, designed by Lloyd Wright (son of Frank Lloyd Wright) and built 1949–1951. Surrounded by redwoods, it is a memorial to the theologian Emanuel Swedenborg, a popular wedding site and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
