Overview

The Catalina Casino is an Art Deco landmark on Avalon Bay, opened in 1929 by William Wrigley Jr., and never used for gambling (“casino” here means “gathering place”). It holds the Avalon Theatre with its murals and Page organ, the Casino Ballroom, and the Catalina Island Museum. Guided tours are offered, and it is the most visible sight from arriving ferries.
