Overview

Haight-Ashbury is the San Francisco neighborhood that was the center of the 1960s hippie counterculture and the 1967 Summer of Love, with Victorian houses, colorful murals, vintage shops, record stores and cafés along Haight Street next to Golden Gate Park. Landmarks include the Grateful Dead House, the Janis Joplin House, Amoeba Music and Buena Vista Park, and there are also tours of Victorian houses and the Love Sculpture.
