Overview
The Gaslamp Quarter is San Diego’s 16½-block historic downtown entertainment district, with Victorian buildings, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and festivals such as Mardi Gras and Street Scene, a block from Petco Park, home of the Padres. It was developed from 1867 by Alonzo Horton and revitalized in the 1980s and 1990s.
