Overview

The Korean Bell of Friendship in Angels Gate Park in San Pedro is a 17-ton bronze bell in a colorful stone pavilion, a 1976 gift from South Korea for the U.S. bicentennial, modeled on an 8th-century bell. The clifftop park has views of Los Angeles Harbor, Catalina Island and the coast, and the bell is rung on New Year’s Eve and certain holidays.
