Overview
Olvera Street is the historic Mexican marketplace in downtown Los Angeles and the heart of El Pueblo de Los Ángeles Historic Monument, a block-long brick-lined pedestrian street filled with vendors, restaurants, mariachi music and festivals, next to the Plaza where the city started in 1781. It is the site of the Avila Adobe (1818), the city’s oldest standing house, plus the Pelanconi House and Sepulveda House.
