How to Get There

From Pinedale, WY (52 mi): Take WY-353 South through Boulder, then follow Big Sandy Road (Forest Road 850) to the Big Sandy Trailhead, the primary access point for the hike into Cirque of the Towers.

Overview

The Cirque of the Towers is a ring of granite spires in the Wind River Range, one of the finest backpacking and climbing destinations in the Rockies. From Pinedale, access from the west is a 55-mile drive, partly gravel, to the Big Sandy trailhead, which has a small national forest campground, then an 8.7-mile hike to the cirque. It is remote, and weather can change fast.
