Overview

Latourell Falls in Guy W. Talbot State Park drops 249 feet straight from an overhanging basalt cliff, unlike most falls in the gorge, which step down. The columnar basalt behind it is coated in orange lichen. A short paved path leads to the base from a lot on the Historic Columbia River Highway, and the Latourell Creek Bridge, a National Register structure, is below the falls.
