How to Get There
From downtown Manchester: Follow Elm Street north, turn right onto Myrtle Street, then turn left onto Heather Street and continue to the Zimmerman House at 223 Heather Street.
Overview
The Zimmerman House in Manchester, designed in 1950 and built in 1951 by Frank Lloyd Wright for Dr. Isadore and Lucille Zimmerman, is the first of two Wright houses in New Hampshire. It is a one-story Usonian home of red glazed brick and Georgia cypress on a floating concrete slab, built on a four-foot module with an L-shaped central chimney. The Zimmermans donated it to the Currier Museum of Art in 1988. Visit by guided tour only, which start at the museum at 150 Ash Street, with a shuttle to the house.
