How to Get There
From Butte, MT: Take I-90 East toward Billings, continue onto I-94 East, then follow I-90 East through the Midwest to I-93 North in New Hampshire, exit toward U.S. Route 302 East, and follow Route 302 to the Crawford Depot trailhead.
Overview
Mount Willard (2,865 feet) in the center of Crawford Notch is one of the best short hikes in the White Mountains, with a well-kept trail through hardwood forest to a cliff overlooking the notch and its U-shaped valley. In fall, the valley below is a blaze of gold and crimson.
